Perceptual Image and Video Processing
Human
vision characteristics are important for both designing and rating
the performance of image and video processing algorithms. Our
research in this area includes psychophysical experiments on video
quality, the design of performance metrics for video algorithms, and
color processing techniques.
Projects:
Perceptual Video Assessment,
Color Enhancement and Re-Rendition,
Color Image Filtering
In this project we have investigated both supervised and unsupervised color image segmentation problems, and have developed a number of new algorithms.
In this project, applications of dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DT-CWT) in texture description and texture based image retrieval were investigated.
